The best way to get rid of roaches is to call Consolidated Pest Control. We will make short work of those little monsters.

That said, if you are looking for some DIY things you can try at home, we can help with that too. Here are a few tips on how to send those tiny spreaders of filth packing:

Seal up any holes in your kitchen

That gap between your countertop and cabinet? The little space behind your wall socket? The gap under your dishwasher? Yep. All of those are places that roaches can crawl into and hide. Even worse are some of the gaps that lead to the outside, no matter how small. Roaches can squeeze into some pretty tight spaces. It will be a hassle, sure, but it will be well worth the effort when you cut of the point they can enter your home.

Get rid of moisture

Roaches are attracted to anything wet, so if you have a leaky hose behind your dishwasher or a spot where condensation forms under your fridge, that’s a bad thing. This is also one of the reasons you find them crawling our of your drain. Hunt down any source of standing water with a vengeance.

Clean. No really.

Roaches are attracted to food residue, so if you leave the crumbs from last nights pizza on the counter, or melted cheese on the stovetop, or you get around to sweeping the kitchen every few months, this could be a big source of your problem. A short cleanup at the end of every day will go a long way to preventing your kitchen from becoming a roach motel.

Reduce humidity.

How do you do this? Just turn down the air conditioner. Roaches like warm, wet spaces, and a cooler house is also a dryer one. Your AC dehumidifies the air the same way a cold glass of water would… as the air flows over your cold AC coil, condensation forms and drips out the condensate line on the side of your house, reducing humidity inside.

Once you’ve tried all these, you should see a big reduction in the amount of roaches you are having to deal with. If not, let us know. Like we said, we can make short work of them for you, now and for a long time in the future.
